2 mil 1/2" copper foil tape from:
The Tape Depot.

Embossing pattern for copper sheathing cut from sheet metal and dimpled with a blunt nail.

Pattern attached to a wood block. The eraser serves as a backer with some give to allow the embossing to take.

Cutting the foil tape to length with a paper cutter.

Line up the pattern on the tape on the backer....

Press the pattern on the tape.

Voila! The peice is embossed with the nail pattern.

A pile of plates ready to apply.

Peel the paper backing off and place the peice over lapping it's neighbors by 1mm. Using a cloth, burnish the peice from the center out seating it completely. Careful, this stuff has sharp edges!

and so copper sheathing begins.
