MOLLE
Chest Rig
I liked wearing the AK Chestrig, so I decided to make a more modern version.

What I want is 4 pouches to fit 140 size/Q-loader pods AND 100 size pods, a tank pouch, a tool pouch, and a chest-plate type map pouch that buckles into the front straps and will hold map, radio, pen, ect.

So, here's a rough sketch of what I plan:

Chest Rig ~ Pod Pouches ~ Tank Pouch ~ Admin/Map Case

Chest Rig
This is actually a stop-gap. I haven't found the right buckles so I grabbed 6 1-1/2" buckles and black webbing just to put something together to basically test. It's not the neatest work I've done, but it should give me an idea of size, shape, and position. The final version will incorporate what I learn from wearing this one along with a set of padded shoulder straps from a set of ALICE suspenders.

waiting for buckles.

Buckles and straps attached.

Beginning to stich down the PALS.

Map/Admin Case
Mapcase concept drawing
The parts for the map/admin case. The front and back will have a sheet of plastic to give it a little stiffening. That plastic came from a set of 6 Christmas placemats I found for $1 at the fabric store.
